Alleviate Fire Safety Building Regulations with Airis
Airis is a fire safety device that stops fires in the kitchen. Ideal for many types of schemes from studio apartments to student accommodation and extra care, Airis alleviates Part B1 Section 2 of fire safety building regulations.
Airis Prevents Fires Intelligently
Airis uses a unique patented temperature measurement technique to accurately measure the temperature of pans on a hob.
Measuring the temperature of the pan is difficult because different materials radiate differently. In fact, when a simple infrared thermometer is used, a stainless steel pan at 100C might be read as 50C. Airis is the only device that overcomes this problem.
Fire safety for New Builds and Retrofits
Improve fire design by preventing fires and smoke from cooking – the single biggest cause of fires in domestic dwellings.
Airis exceeds the requirements of BS EN 50615 and can effectively alleviate Part B1 Section 2 of building regulations.
Airis is straightforward to install and doesn’t require specialist knowledge or training. When installing in multiple apartments in the same building, it takes around 30-45 minutes per apartment.

Fire safety that alleviates Building Regulations – without maintenance charges
Airis is a fire safety device that alleviates building regulations and goes beyond the current standards for BS EN 50615 and fire safety. Its AI derived algorithms can analyse cooking fumes, human presence, real-time power use and more.
When Airis Sense WiFi is used, Airis Cloud can provide real-time notifications for key observations about the kitchen environment, the Airis sensor and PCU. This is backed up by a comprehensive database for auditing and investigation.
Accreditation and compliance
Airis meets the requirements of BS EN 50615, a standard ratified in 2015 to differentiate products that prevent cooking fires. Norway has mandated the installation of a compliant product in all kitchens. More than 600,000 EN 50615 devices are now installed.
