Over 300,000 people cooking safely!
Extend the capabilities of Telecare with advanced fire safety
Airis enables vulnerable and elderly people to cook safely on the stove. When connected to telecare, the benefits are compounded.
- Gives vulnerable people an increased sense of wellbeing and prolongs their independence
- Saves costs of meal provision
- Prevents fires and toxic smoke
- Cuts the power to the stove, only in a dangerous situation
Fire and smoke safety for vulnerable residents
Reduces smoke alarms
Airis acts proactively, which means a drastic reduction of smoke alarm activations and subsequent alarms to the alarm response centre.
Saves costs of meal provision
Airis means independence and an improved quality of life. As it allows people to cook safely for themselves, meal provision – and its associated cost – is no longer necessary.
Prevents fires and toxic smoke
Airis protects vulnerable people from the risk of fire and toxic smoke inhalation. It doesn’t wait for fires – it prevents them, and all without affecting everyday cooking.
Why stop people cooking just because they're a little forgetful?
From planning meals to shopping, preparing, cooking, eating and washing up, the whole process of cooking exercises numerous skills, both cognitive and physical.
Cooking helps to maintain a person’s dignity, their physical dexterity, their cognitive abilities and of course their independence.
People at 80 have twice the number of cooking fires and those with physical or cognitive difficulties are at greater risk. But with Airis, these are no longer justifications to stop someone cooking.

Connecting to Telecare
Airis connects to any Telecare system via standard wireless devices such as those provided by Tynetec, Doro and Tunstall. The PCU (power control unit) has two no-volt outputs which are ideal for connection to any telecare wireless device. These outputs can be inverted if required. Various conditions can be set. By default, the outputs indicate:
OFF OFF – Nothing to report
OFF ON – Normal cooking detected
ON OFF – Alarm. Airis has cut the power to prevent fire or smoke
ON ON – Fault detected
Herts Careline is one of the Telecare organisations leading the way by keeping clients safe and independent with Airis.

Airis is only for electric hobs (all types). For gas, the Multisensor can be used on its own.
